TotE!

Who We Are

Theatre on the Edge (TotE) is Sxwesméllp, Salmon Arm’s only theatre festival, hosted on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc people and co-presented by Shuswap Theatre and the Salmon Arm Arts Centre.

TotE is a 3 day, curated, multi-location festival with a focus on new performances & works in development from local and touring artists including community development and workshop activities. We are dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for artists to embrace risks, celebrate differences, engage audiences, promote collaboration, create conversations and push boundaries in a fun and supportive environment.

Theatre on the Edge is what happened when Shuswap Theatre asked the question:

“How can we make more theatre?”

The short answer?

By being a home-away-from-home for artists.

If you were to ask almost any artist that has done the Fringe circuit for a while, they will tell you that it can be brutal.

Venues without technicians or stages or even a changing room?

“Not this year. I’m going to TOTE!”

We love hosting artists in our intimate 149-seat theatre, so why not build an annual theatre festival?!

Theatre on the Edge is a co-production between Shuswap Theatre and the Salmon Arm Arts Centre

Theatre on the Edge is hosted on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc; strong and resilient.
