Julia Armstrong is a woodworking artisan who started developing her skills on a Kootenay homestead. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from SFU and taught in the public school system before obtained her drafting certificate. Her experience of teaching wookworking to Turkish women was featured in “North of 50” publication, May 2004. Since her return to Canada, she has been teaching woodworking to women and through the “Artists in the Schools” program. Her work has been on exhibit at SAGA Public Art Gallery, Shuswap Festival of the Arts and several craft shows and markets throughout the Okanagan and Shuswap.
